All about Royal

Royal came to the creche on April 7th 2019, weighing 650g. After a couple of weeks, she started to put on weight. By the end of August she weighted more than 1kg. She stayed in the creche through 2019, living in a few different burrows. When George arrived in 2020, she and Najima used to eat George’s supplementary food. She’s now living out in the Paparoa Range.

We’re so excited to be able to welcome this little roroa to Atarau Sanctuary. Born at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, they’ll be transferred to the creche when their weight and health allows them to take the next step towards living in the wild.
